Captain Daniel Harris
About the Job
CAPTAIN DANIEL HARRIS — Male, 40s–50s Captain Daniel Harris is an experienced police commander who carries himself with authority and control. He is professional, measured, and rarely raises his voice. His power comes from his ability to remain calm while everyone around him becomes emotional. Harris is Price’s superior and initially presents himself as someone trying to protect his officers and maintain order within the department. As Price’s investigation develops, however, Harris becomes increasingly difficult to read. The role requires an actor who can create tension through restraint rather than obvious villainy. Harris should feel believable as someone who has spent years operating within an institution and understands exactly how to control a room. Performance qualities: authoritative, controlled, intelligent, intimidating without exaggeration, composed, morally complicated. Casting note: Strong dramatic actor preferred. The character relies heavily on subtext, controlled dialogue, and power dynamics.
